Seismic Duck was written on a 75 Mhz Performa 6200. The order of magnitude improvement in Mac speeds caused the game to fly by much too quickly. The "Frame Rate" menu lets you set an upper bound on the number of frames per second.
Squiggle seismograms
Old timers may appreciate the optional "squiggle" charts. To generate these, go to the Model menu and open the item Recording. From the chart popup, select squiggle. The resulting seismogram will be drawn with squiggles. These are a bit more colorful than real ones, which were black and white.
Version 1.5 (Not A Public Release)
Multiple window sizes
You can now select the window size, using the □Display menu. Smaller windows run faster, which helps yield good frame rates on older Macs.
Version 1.4 (May 1997)
Choice of color schemes
There's now a choice between black or white backgrounds. The latter is better for printing screen dumps.
Correct phase for reflected waves
Earlier versions had reflections 180 degrees out of phase. Proper phase is important because it distinguishes reflections between sandstone/shale interfaces and vice-versa.
